The Nebraska State Personnel Development Grant (NSPDG) will expand the number of sites that use positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and implement the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) family and community involvement model. This model is a proven, effective strategy to deliver intensive professional development that resulted in scaling up PBIS in Nebraskas largest school district, Omaha from 18 to 84 buildings, and began the effort in the second largest district, Lincoln as well as two rural districts, Valley and Nebraska City Public Schools. In addition, NSPDG will strengthen and sustain implementation of PBIS in model sites. Third, the use and coordination of the use of PBIS in early intervention/early childhood special education (EI/ECSE) programs will be expanded.

Nebraska Response-To-Intervention Technical Assistance Document PDF(pdf)
This guidance document provides an overview for Response-to-Intervention (RtI) practices in Nebraska. It describes the core components of RtI and charts the course for the systematic implementation of RtI in schools. The document is intended to help readers increase their understanding of the various aspects of RtI and to identify areas that warrant future training within their schools. The guidance document was developed by the Nebraska Department of Education & the University of Nebraska in June 2006.
Response to Intervention (RtI) in Secondary Schools: Issues, Strategies and Preliminary Data PDF(pdf)
This presentation given by faculty at Norris High School in Firth, Nebraska offers a basic understanding of RtI and the challenges faced by secondary educators to implement this general education initiative effectively. The presenters outlined strategies to support student success and provided preliminary data demonstrating the effectiveness of current program strategies. This presentation may be useful for district and school administrators planning and implementing an RtI framework in high schools.
